Cyprus Video Clip Category
The Prize: 4,000 euro + Bs Kinetics Housing
This category is open to both amateur and professional videographers
- Each competitor allowed to present up to a 90 sec video clip that
was shoot and edit in Cyprus, during the 3 days (June 2-4,2009)
of Cyprus's shoot-out
- Clip's theme is open, and it is at the competitor's choice.
- Video format at the competitor choice.
- A minimum of 80% of the footage must have been taken underwater.
- The competitor may use a crew, to assist in directing and editing.
Conservation Rules
- Any use of scenery and artifact sets under water must be coordinated with the competition's management.
Marine should never be stressed or endangered for the sake of a photo
Entries exhibiting the following behavior will be disqualified
1. Divers visibly damaging the environment.
2. Animals with signs of stress (puffed puffers, inking octopus...).
3. Animals moved to an unnatural environment or risky location.
4. Animals being fed artificial food from divers.
5. Marine life being touched (e.g. coral polyps, seahorse tails).
- Competitors must supply their own editing equipment. None will be supplied by the organizers.
- Sound track and narration may be prepared in advance, if desired.
-Titles, Credit roll and other text needed, may also be prepared prior to the competition.
- By submitting the video clip, competitor certify that he/she has created, composed or has the rights for the sound track and made the original submitted video clip.
- The finished clip must be submitted on DVD Format, no later than 20:00 p.m Friday June 5, 2009
- Decisions of the jury panel shall be final.
Registration Fees: 45 Euro
Rights of usage
The competition's management and sponsors will have the rights to use all the video clips made by the competitors at the "Aphrodite" Cyprus 2009, to assist in promotions and public relations.
Using and screening copyrights
The Video Clip Participate should declare that he has the full rights and is the owner of all the copyrights for the video Clip produced in the Cyprus competition including its sound track.
He has the full rights to broadcast in any way or form, including for privet or commercial use everywhere in the world.
The participant will be liable for any damage, loss or expense that will be the result of using and screening his film, according to his aforementioned declaration.
Responsibility:
Each participant is responsible for his/her own safety and the proper operation of his/her diving and photographic equipment. The organizers and the sponsors of this event do not endorse that diving is safe and do not recommend any particular location. Each participant must follow the diving rules of Cyprus and use his/her own judgment regarding diving safety.
