Aphrodite Shoot-out competition Categories and prizes
The competition is open to all photographers, amateurs and
professionals alike. It is a shoot-out competition, meaning that photographs have to be taken in Cyprus during the 3 days of:
June 2-4 2009.
Categories and Prizes:

First Prize for the Zenobia best 5 images

Media:
Film and digital images to be judged equal.
Electronic Imaging: digital still images. Please Note: Manipulated images or digital retouching is not permitted.
Color Film: Negative color film or slides shall be scanned by the competitors and judged as digital images.
A Few Simple Rules:
1. Participants may shoot either film or digital
2. Participants must sign in and pick up their information packets and participant numbers at the LIVADHIOTIS CITY HOTEL, starting Monday, June 1, 2009.
3. All participants must sign and submit a Waiver of Liability upon registration.
4. Participants shooting digital must set their camera to the date assigned at registration.
5. Participants shooting negative film or slides will have to shoot first image (logo of the festival. (provided at the registration) in each roll of film. Each roll of film must be
Submitted in one piece- no cuts.
6. Images can be taken during the day or at night
7. All images must be shot underwater.
Developing Films and downloading Memory cards during the Competition:
At the end of every day, photographers who choose to use negative film or slides must process their films, scan them and transfer the pictures to a digital media.
Photographers who choose digital media must go to the computers room at the LIVADHIOTIS CITY HOTEL and download their pictures. The pictures will be kept on the computer as well, for backup purposes.
The following nature protection rules must be followed:
* No feeding of animals.
* No touching or moving animals to “better” backgrounds.
* Divers must dive according to the rules of diving in Israel.
* Participants have to bring with them their diving license and diving insurance.
* Divers who cannot dive within the rules of the Nature Reserve Authority will be disqualified.
* Entrant must certify that he/she has created, composed and made the original exposure.
Registration and participation fees:
40 euro, one charge for 5 categories: the best 5 Zenobia, the best Singular live on the Zenobia, Advertising and creative, Fashion and Nudes.
Photographers participating at the Cyprus Shoot-out Competition must be registered on the official registration form duly completed and signed
The use of the same picture in more than one category is forbidden
Use of images:
Competitors agree to the reproduction, publication and use of images of their photographs shoot during the competition in relevant media, magazines, web sites, promotions, archives, exhibits, publications such as the competition album calendar and other use of the organizers and the sponsors in related of promoting the competition event.
Submission of images to this competition automatically indicates the consent of the entrant to the following rules: The organizing group and their agents assume no responsibility for any damage or loss to images during processing, handling, or failure to exhibit images for any reason.
Decisions of the jury panel shall be final.
Responsibility:
Each participant is responsible for his/her own safety and the proper operation of his/her diving and photographic equipment. The organizers and the sponsors of this event do not endorse that diving is safe and do not recommend any particular location. Each participant must follow the diving rules of Cyprus and use his/her own judgment regarding diving safety.
